5 Easy Ways to Detoxify: How to Detox Your Body Fast
The Importance of Detoxing
My understanding of the crucial significance of routine detoxification has risen since I recently finished health advocate Suzanne Somer's best-selling book Tox-sick. Most chronic, life-threatening diseases, such as auto-immune disorders, cancer, and heart disease, are caused by a lack of sufficient nutrients and pollutants.
All of us can benefit from regular cleansing due to the daily barrage of toxins. Toxins are absorbed by our bodies through our food, water, air, and skin. Even those of us who solely consume organic foods and drink clean water nevertheless unintentionally consume poisons.
The soil has been depleted of important vitamins due to farmers not putting back essential nutrients into our soils. Poisons like Glyphosate sprayed on huge conventional farms around the country, contaminate organic fields of vegetables, fruit, and pasture land. All conventional wheat in the US is now routinely sprayed with Glyphosate, making it important to consume only organic wheat bread. We all breathe the same outdoor air, which is contaminated from as far away as Japan and China.
Lotions, soaps, shampoos, makeup, and perfumes are another source of toxicity that gets absorbed directly through our skin, just as medicinal creams are absorbed. There is no regulation in the skin care, hair, and makeup industry, making it important to use only certified organic soaps, shampoos, lotions, and makeup products to avoid toxic poisons. The Environmental Working Group is a good free online source for certified skin care products.
In addition to the toxic air, water, food, and skincare products that our bodies take in, there are other dangerous forms of toxins. Vaccinations are a particularly life-threatening source of poisons, particularly the neurotoxins aluminum and thimerosal, which contains dangerous mercury. Aluminum and thimerosal have been proven, by extensive research and scientific papers including those by the CDC, to contribute to an increase in auto-immune disorders, autism, ADHD, Alzheimer’s disease and cancer rates. The childhood vaccination schedule has grown tremendously in recent years, contributing to skyrocketing rates of debilitating diseases among today’s children. Vaccines contain numerous dangerous ingredients which are injected directly into one’s body, bypassing the usual detoxification paths available when toxins are ingested as food or water. These toxins pass through the blood-brain barrier, causing extensive health damage to both children and adults.
Heavy metals are also absorbed in the form of mercury dental fillings, which continue to be given today. Mercury vapors from dental amalgams are dangerous. The vapors are continually absorbed into one’s body on a daily basis contributing to many deadly diseases. Mercury toxicity is linked to the following symptoms: headache, ear ringing, dizziness, depression, anxiety, asthma, memory loss and renal failure. Mercury poisoning is linked with the following diseases: Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, diabetes and kidney, and liver disease.
5 Easy Ways to Detoxify: How to Detox Your Body Fast
Because of the toxic world that we live in today, it is really essential that we engage in some form of detoxification on a regular basis, while also avoiding toxins when we can. The following are mostly inexpensive and easy to incorporate into one’s schedule.
5 Excellent Detoxifications are the Following:
- Near Infrared Sauna
- Betonite Clay
- Activated Charcoal
- Epsom Salt Baths
- Veggie Juices/ Smoothies
1. Near Infrared Sauna
Taking a sauna and sweating are long-established forms of detoxification, especially popular in Norwegian countries where many homes have their own, allowing one to easily sweat out toxins from the body. There is a lot of debate on the best type of sauna one should take, but many experts argue that near-infrared saunas are superior. The incandescent lamps used in a near infrared sauna are a thermal light source similar to the sun. The near-infrared spectrum of light induces cell regeneration, reduction of inflammation, and neuron repair.
One can sign up for sessions in their community or make an investment in purchasing their own home sauna for convenient use. I recently invested in my health by purchasing the Sauna Space near infrared sauna. I have thoroughly enjoyed my investment, using the sauna for 30-40 minutes almost daily.
2. Betonite Clay
Bentonite clay has been used historically by early man as a way to detoxify from poisons and sources of digestive ills. Early men and women were known to carry clay with them and use it whenever needed to eliminate unwanted toxins from their bodies. Food-grade bentonite clay mixed with purified water is an easy way to detoxify harmful toxins from the body. Bentonite clay should be taken one hour apart from food, supplements, or medications. Start by mixing one teaspoon of Betonite clay mixed with one cup of purified water in a glass mason jar.
3. Activated Charcoal
Activated charcoal has been used for years at emergency rooms as a way to safely remove certain poisons. Food-grade activated charcoal can also be used safely at home to remove heavy metals as desired. It should be mixed with water and taken 1-2 hours apart from food or nutrients. Integrative cardiologist Al Sears, MD has discussed this as the poor man’s chelation. One tablespoon of activated charcoal mixed with one cup of water is recommended.
4. Epsom Salt Baths
Epsom salt baths are an enjoyable way to detoxify, relax sore muscles and supply the important minerals of sulfate and magnesium. Magnesium and sulfur also pull salt and dangerous toxins out of one’s body. At least 2 cups of Epsom salt is recommended for each bath. When purchasing Epsom salts, one only needs to find one certified by the USP, the United States Pharmacopeia, with a drug facts box listed on the container. Inexpensive certified Epsom salts can be purchased easily at most large grocery and drug stores. To ensure they are as pure as possible, I avoid Epsom salts which have added scents.
5. Green Juices and Smoothies
Homemade juices and smoothies made with a combination of fresh organic vegetables and fruits are well known to help detoxify one’s body through their high antioxidant and vitamin content. Common vegetables and fruits for smoothies include organic green leafy vegetables, broccoli, cucumber, celery, apples, and berries. Popular juicing vegetables and fruits include celery, carrots, beets, and apples.
Juicing provides a powerhouse of antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins, and nutrients. These antioxidants protect the body from cellular damage caused by free radicals. Raw fresh juices provide intact enzymes making them easy to digest.
Many leading physicians and health authors recommend juicing. The Gerson therapy uses a diet based on consuming 13 daily glasses of raw juices using carrots, apples, and greens to help detoxify and treat cancer patients. Dr. Natasha Campbell, author of Gut and Psychology Syndrome recommends juicing as part of her dietary protocol to heal and detoxify those suffering from autism, ADHD, depression, and schizophrenia. Neurosurgeon Dr. Russell Blaylock recommends green smoothies for healing. Best-selling author Jordan Rubin recommends juicing for the healing of digestive diseases.
Summary
We live in a very toxic world, where we absorb toxins on a daily basis from our water, food, air, and skin care products, along with possible dental amalgams and vaccinations. Aluminum and mercury are two well-known forms of neurotoxins, but many more exist including cadmium, arsenic, lead, and pesticides. Avoiding and removing toxins is essential to maintain optimal health.
Toxins are a major underlying cause of all major illnesses, including cancer, heart disease, auto-immune disorders, and neurological diseases. To optimize health, it is important to engage in regular forms of detoxification to remove various poison sources from our bodies. The following 5 detoxes can remove dangerous toxins: saunas, Epsom salt baths, EDTA capsules, activated charcoal, Betonite clay, and green juices/smoothies.
